Attractive STEM degree program

Promotion of exchange formats between STEM degree programs with the same subject focus

Project Description

To make STEM degree programs future-ready, it is not enough to simply make curricular adjustments to existing programs. What is needed are innovative and interdisciplinary teaching formats and completely reimagined STEM program structures—designed to address Generation Z and to train experts who are in demand by businesses, social enterprises, and both private and public organizations in the social sector.

To achieve this, the new faculty NXT – Sustainability and Technology – will, in an initial phase, further develop existing STEM programs in an interdisciplinary way. Building on this, new transdisciplinary curricula will be collaboratively created. Specifically, networking and exchange initiatives are planned with Ludwigsburg and Freiburg universities of applied sciences, the universities of Tübingen and Hohenheim, and the IAT at the University of Stuttgart, complemented by collaborations with social and business enterprises as well as private and public social sector organizations.

Today's students are tomorrow's skilled professionals. That’s why we want to increase the attractiveness of our STEM degree programs. Our society needs more graduates in engineering disciplines as well as in mathematics, computer science, and the natural sciences to drive ecological and technological transformation and to strengthen innovation and competitiveness.
